PerfectOutlook has collected and analyzed the data in its reports with
great care. However, we depend on the accuracy of the source data
provided by the Government of Canada's Proactive Disclosure reports.
These have some inconsistencies with spelling of vendors' names,
categories of spending and dates the contract was reported.
We use the following policies to
help organize the data to make it readable.
1. We standardize a name for a
vendor. If a vendor has similar names, even if they are different
entities, i.e. Vendor Inc., Vendor Group Ltd., The Vendor Systems,
Vendor Solutions, we try to treat the vendor as a single entity.
2. We treat the year it was reported by the Government of Canada as
the year it happened. So the actual transaction may have happened in a
previous year. The total value reported for one year may apply to
several years when a contract has been completed.
3. We use some adjustments to show values like market share when
comparing firms. We only use the totals of the market for the firms
who had sales in both years.
4. Errors and omission are unintentional, and are, to a limited
degree, inevitable.
5. Report any error you notice to
